Hello everyone, it’s Hina here. It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been quite busy lately and I’m currently in Hokkaido for a family visit. It’s cold, but the air is crisp and delicious. Unfortunately, there’s no snow, which is a bit disappointing. Meanwhile, my anime watchlist keeps growing!
In my previous post, I mentioned magic and supernatural ability themed anime. Today, I’d like to introduce not one, but two anime series:
As you can see, they’re by the same creator. Index is based on a light novel, while Railgun is based on a manga. Index focuses on magic, while Railgun deals with supernatural abilities.
To briefly explain the plots: Index: “Evil magicians have come to my Academy City! I’ll destroy their illusions with my ability!” Railgun: “Evil espers and scientists are causing trouble in my Academy City! I’ll defeat them with my ability!”
Both series take place in the same setting – Academy City – but focus on different characters. They’re interconnected, which adds depth to the storytelling.
These anime are perfect for those who enjoy “chuunibyou” themes. They feature characters with abilities like memory manipulation, telepathy, and remote control. I’m sure many of you can relate to these powers, right?
With so many different abilities showcased, these series are great for sparking imagination and even inspiring new hypnotic techniques. Personally, I prefer A Certain Scientific Railgun.
